Were it any other sake Kenzo would be passed out by now, but as he pours himself another cup he is still fully alert. He stared out the window, watching black clouds get closer and closer.

"It's said to be bad luck to drink alone," Matisutou says, appearing suddenly.

"Ahh Matisutou-san his to see you again, please have a seat and join me. How has your day been?" He gestured to the seat across from him and then waves at Hoshi to bring them some food and more drink.

"Quiet," comes the Ikoma's reply as he joins the Daidoji. "Which means nothing has gone wrong. And that is fortunate.

"And yours?"

He holds up two fingers to the server. The weak spirits being what they are and all.

"Quite well actually all things considered. I let a boar almost take my leg off hunting yesterday and that put a serious damper on my plans for the evening but I've had it tended to. Just sitting here watching the storm roll in, I'm not sure the bar will be standing much longer so I thought I would enjoy it before we have to rebuild it."

"Hm."

Matisutou grunts in affirmation as the drinks arrive. "To a speedy recovery, then," he says, pouring.

"You are a very reserved man aren't you Matisutou-san? You must be great as Fortunes and Winds, you're hard to read." He smiled and took the offered cup, pouring his companions drink as was proper. "Kampai!"

"Kampai," replies the Ikoma, lifting the cup and draining it off.

"And yes," he replies. "I am no omoidasu, after all, but a bushi."

"Nor am I." He said with a light chuckle. "But you are quieter than most I think and it makes me all the more curious about you. The life you have led prior to coming here, what you hope to achieve personally while here. Forgive my prying."

"I hope only to be of good and useful service," Matisutou replies. "Both to my Clan and to the mission here. What samurai under the Emperor--long may He reign--could hope for more?"

He refills the drinks, weak as the local sake is.

"I was hoping you would show us your talent last night here at the bar. Aside from whatever else you can do I imagine you could cut a leaf on a pond without disturbing the water's surface."

He reached into his sleeve and pulled out some dice.

"But you didn't deny that you are good at Fortunes and Winds. Care to play? No need to wager on it, just for fun."

"As I said, I am no bard," Matisutou replies, taking another drink. "But I could stand to dice, though I've played more cho-han than Fortunes and Winds."

"Hmm, sadly I don't have the proper dice for that I suppose I should make some. Do you have a proper set by any chance?"

"Unfortunately not," Matisutou replies. "But I'm pleased to roll Fortunes and Winds."

Another drink. Keep 'em coming.

"Excellent!" He placed the dice down before the Ikoma. "You may have the first throw."

Matisutou nods, looks over the dice for a moment, takes them up, and casts them.

They roll North, Water, Tree, Air, and Fortunes.

"Hm."
