Day 5, Event, EE: A Song Upon the Wind

[Miya Akari]

Akari smiled at both Hatsuko and Yukari while observing and listening. It was a lovely song and story, and after she gently clapped her approval.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Much like with Yukari's song Kenzo closed his eyes as he listened to the Doji's singing, seemingly transported somewhere in his mind and applauding when she finished.

"That was wonderful Hana-san, truly, your voice is so soothing. How blessed are we to have such talented singers here with us."

He glanced at the Ikoma and noted his interest but said nothing.

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari simply smiled at the Doji- and bowed.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji smiled and bowed. She looked at Yukari. "Thank you Shiba san." Hana took her seat again. "That was fun."

[Miya Akari]

"It looked fun, Doji-san," Akari said, then sent a warm smile Yukari's way.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"You should try. Maybe tell a story." She seemed quite happy. "Please?"

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo simply smiled and cocked an eyebrow at the Miya waiting to see what she would do.

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari joined in the peer pressure, arching an eyebrow and... smiling.

[Miya Akari]

"I am very much not a storyteller, but if you all wish to be bored and hear me butcher the attempt..." she said with a shrug.

[Shiba Yukari]

"I would say Miya-sama is many things, but 'boring' wouldn't be among them..."

Yukari smiled, and, for the sake of player sanity, can be assumed to cast Flight of Doves on Akari without hemming or hawing about exactly when.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Just give it a try... I tried singing so... please." The Doji smiled.

[Miya Akari]

Moving to tell her story to the gathered people, she stood before them. Amazingly enough, despite not being a storyteller or performer of any sort she seemed to have no nervousness. Probably because she didn't care what people thought of her ability to tell stories.

"So... there was a girl that had never seen a mirror before. And... well, that's the wrong part to start at. I guess. There was a girl that was very respectful of her parents. And she was with her mother when she got sick and was giving her final words. Uhh... the mother told her daughter that she was a good girl, and gave her a gift and her dying words. The gift was a mirror, and the girl hadn't ever seen one before. The mother said she should look at it each day after she was gone and she'd be able to greet her in the morning and say good night each evening. After her mother died the girl did what she asked, looking at the image and saying good morning and good evening each day. Eventually her dad noticed and asked what she was doing, and the girl was like, 'I'm paying respects to mother', which made her father laugh. So he explained that what her mother gave her was a mirror, and she was looking at herself. She just happened to look that much like her mother that she didn't know. But because she promised her mother, she continued doing it forever. Umm... the end?"

Akari... was a terrible storyteller. And the magical accompaniment could do nearly nothing to spruce up the travesty. This was not her strong suit and she awaited the polite words that would undoubtedly come. Though she'd honestly prefer straightforward admissions that, yes, she was aware of her own shortcomings and should not be pressured into telling stories so poorly. It wasn't good for anyone.

"So I guess that's a story about a girl that respects her parents, even though her mother used her dying breath to pick on her daughter? I probably told it wrong."

"Thank you for sharing with us Akari-sama, I know storytelling isn't something you are fond of doing but this is all in good fun and it certainly beats sitting here in silence." He looked pointedly at the Ikoma as he spoke the last part.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji shook her head. "I am just glad you tried... maybe the art is not your thing but there is no failure in trying." She gave the Miya a smile.

[Shiba Yukari]

"Besides. There's always next time."

[Miya Akari]

"I imagine next time won't be any better. It's simply not something I have a sense for. The way a blind person can't see. I can keep trying, but I don't have a passion for it. Much better at listening."

She shrugs.

"But thank you all for your kind words."
