[D2 EA] Investigations Into Salamanders

[Miya Akari]

She had promised to look into it for Qi, so here she was at the docks. No fishing gear and all business. She wasn't a magistrate of course, but she could still lean into her position to potential get people in line. She started by poking around the places that were used for storing non perishable supplies.

[Koumori]

One of the dockworkers took notice of what she was doing and looked over at her fellow workers. After nudging them a bit, they gathered up and started muttering to themselves as the samurai went snooping around their business. For the moment, they didn't approach her as she looked through everything, but they were watching her closely.

Otherwise, she couldn't see much of note or interest so far.

[Miya Akari]

She approaches them, looking like she is about to ask a question, but then walks past looking into another area. She makes certain to keep an eye for any significant reactions from them. Kind of playing hot and cold with their expressions.

[Koumori]

As she approached them, they ignored her, but didn't switch the conversation topic that they were on either.

"That the one from the b-?" One was interrupted
"Yeah, and now she's digging through stuff that's not hers." A deeper voice spoke up
"Think she's in the same boat as-?" The first one tried to speak up again.
"Maybe, but don't say the name, idiot." The deep voice said.
"Heh, probably looking for some aphrodisiac." A third one chimed in. "I'm ready for another show. Haven't seen hot action like that in years, mate."
That one got some snickers.

[Miya Akari]

Akari honestly didn't care what they thought of her or her activities. But the last comment got a chuckle from her.

"Probably has something to do with that mug," she says at a similar volume level, while continuing to poke around for anything that looked out of place.

[Koumori]

"Nah, my husband still says I'm the prettiest of the bunch, but his dick game is lacking. Doesn't get me going anymore." Came the reply.

[Miya Akari]

The Imperial smirked at that. "Well, every woman is the prettiest of the bunch when she asks her husband," she replied. "Just like every Lion you talk to is the bravest."

She doesn't seem too concerned with the subject or the woman.

[Koumori]

"You seem to be forgetting a wide variety of men who have affairs and hate their spouses." The dockworker answered with a snort. The others watch this play out, though still also watching her as she dug around through stuff that isn't hers.

[Miya Akari]

"Just because a spouse doesn't hate them, doesn't mean it's easy to get it up for them," Akari said with a smirk. "Someone not laying it down well, probably has a lack of motivation or inspiration. After all, an enthusiastic first timer is more fun than an experienced man pushing rope."

She starts moving on to a new set of crates and supplies, listening for anything that might be moving around. She gives little bumps and taps with her knuckles or sandal every once in a while. Just to see if she gets a reaction from anything.

[Koumori]

"Well, at least we have the decency to not do it on a wide open beach when we're to be working." They shot back before another worker spoke up.

"You aren't going to find anything in those. They're just supplies we got in yesterday that haven't been moved yet, unless ye Imperialness is suspecting the Crane of smuggling?"

[Miya Akari]

"Not suspecting anyone of anything right now. Just curious," she replied.

She smirks at the other woman, "Talking about getting dick and then shifting to claiming impropriety a few breaths later. You'll give a girl whiplash with that kind of flip flopping."

She starts making her way towards one of the buildings up at the edge of the docks.

[Koumori]

"Talking about it and then actually doing the activity in public are two different things." She shrugged.

The other worker didn't seem pleased with the answer he got though. "If ya just curious then you need to go have a chat with Kitsuki-sama. She oversees it all and dont like people poking around. Says nimble hands fuck up her countin'."

[Miya Akari]

"Good thing I don't have nimble hands then," the Miya replied. "I'll worry about Kitsuki-san if she asks about why I'm poking around. Kind of difficult to stop someone from looking at stuff sitting around in public though."

She ties the two different conversations together.

"If it's in public, anyone can see it. Nothing you can do about it. And if you are worried about it then you should keep it private." Suggesting that the Miya wasn't particularly worried about it.

[Koumori]

The workers all looked at each other, but then, oddly, seemed to blow it off after that. They had said their peace and now whatever happened was left up to the samurai to deal with. They were just laborers after all and they all decided to wash their hands of it after that. They went back to whatever it was they were doing before.

But, Akari couldn't find much else other than common supplies like fabrics, blankets, paper, lumber, ink, and so on and so forth. Things that would be okay sitting on the dock for a day or two before being placed in a storehouse.

[Miya Akari]

She moved to poke around the outside of the storehouses, but didn't make any attempts to get access.

[Koumori]

As she walked towards it, Shion walked out with a book in one hand and a rudimentary pencil in the other. Her expression was less than pleased, but that's how it normally was. Her blank, dead eyes looked at the Miya seconds before she gave a perfect and calculated bow that only went as far down as perfectly necessary to be polite and formal.

"Is there a reason as to what you are doing, Miya-san?" She asked in a voice as dead as her gaze. "You are not assigned to work under my supervision and thus have no need here."

[Miya Akari]

"Just looking around. Asako Qi-san had some concerns about the salamanders that I offered to look into. Just looking to see if there are any signs that they may have made their way into the village or passed through it recently." It was said in a pleasant tone.

[Koumori]

"If there are issues with the salamanders then it would be more prevalent to go to the fishermans huts. It is them who hunt them from the cove and bring them into the village as a delicacy amongst all of the fish. Yet. I would suggest speaking to Miya-sama and obtaining her permission before questioning the peasants."

[Miya Akari]

Akari nods. "I'll do so. Definitely a more likely area."

[Koumori]

"Have you spoken to Miya-sama?"
