[D2, MA] Hold your breath

[Miya Akari]

"Your work has certainly borne fruit. You have a beautiful voice and a wonderful talent for song," she said with a nod. "Your sensei must be quite proud."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Indeed, yours is a voice one I would love to sing me to sleep. It would probably be the most comforting thing ever."

Kenzo walked back out of the water with the bag of clams and set them down near the fire before siting back down, this time on the other side of the Shiba. He didn't dive right into her as he wanted in the moment, understanding both where they were and what he thought was his place in this. So he tried to distract himself with chatter while he kept his hands busy playing with a dull and pitted knife.

"It's a shame that we have to use today's bounty judiciously, the boar I brought back would make a fine center to a feast for the village."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Well, we should probably make sure the heimin have plenty... in the normal run of things they do far more gathering than we do."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well there should be plenty for everyone to eat tonight."

[Miya Akari]

"We don't lack for actual supplies as I understand it. Just that the surplus was cut into. Which made higher ups uncomfortable. We're still good, us and the heimin," she explains. "That is my understanding of the situation."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I suppose we'll see. I just grabbed a basket and went looking rather than asking any, well... questions."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I tried to ask a bunch of questions but Moto-sama told me to shut up and go hunt." He laughed.

"He didn't even acknowledge me when I returned and tried to speak to him. Not sure how but I guess I pissed him off already."

He shrugged. "Maybe I snore and don't know it."

[Miya Akari]

"Maybe he had a bad experience with a puppeteer once?" Akari said lightly. "He's a very serious man."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Or maybe he's just having a tough day?"

[Miya Akari]

"That too," Akari said. "I imagine he likely wasn't thrilled to be told there was a potential food shortage."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well I would love to cheer him up but I have no idea how to do that without knowing what could be bothering him. Hopefully he's just itching to get exploring like me but shows it differently." He smiled and shrugged. "I've never had a hard time speaking my mind, something I'm sure my old Chui doesn't miss one bit."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I'd say give it time. I plan on having a bit of a performance later this evening, maybe get people used to the idea of some impromptu evening entertainment to unwind..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Oh, you plan on performing? Well sign me up."

[Shiba Yukari]

"It'll be in that pile of driftwood that serves as a sake bar, probably after most people will have finished their dinner."

[Miya Akari]

"Aww. That's when I scheduled my bathing time. Looks like ill miss it," she replied with a playful pout.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well now I don't know which event to attend."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I suppose it depends on what you think you... need more."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well I don't think I was actually invited to the bath so thankfully I don't have to choose between the two"

[Miya Akari]

"Well, considering I actually want to bathe and not be distracted, I think the performance is the better option.". She smirked at that.

[Shiba Yukari]

"So that's settled... will you be bringing your puppets, Kenzo-san?"
