The same is set in 976. The Mantis are still a minor clan and many of the clans they absorbed are still their own thing. One notable change, because I like them, is that the Bat Clan has been founded. They still came from the Mantis, but have split off. Same-sex marriage is also allowed.

However, because I'm not very well-versed on 4e lore based on the specific year, whatever's going on in the mainland isn't really affecting the island in much capacity other than minor tensions between the different clan samurai.
