[D1 LA] Imperial Welcome

[Miya Akari]

Akari sits at a table in the bar, eating, but not drinking. She liked the building, even though it was flimsy and definitely needed replaced. But it did have a certain charm. She sat facing the door in case anyone came in that might join her for lunch but, but not expecting. The potential surprise was more exciting.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Perhaps she was lost or perhaps she didn't know better. A young Crane woman entered the Driftwood Sake. She was hungry and a hungry Doji is a grumpy one. The Crane took a seat near the Miya. "Good afternoon Sama." The girl gave a seated bow.

[Miya Akari]

The bow was returned. "Good afternoon. I hope your day has been well."

She waves Hoshi over to provide some more food. "Looking for a bite to eat?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

She nodded to the Miya as she takes her fan out. "It has been good." She looked at the rustic place and sighed. "Yes, something good to eat."

[Miya Akari]

"Well, you are in luck," she says with a smirk, sliding her plat towards the doji, the individual pieces of sushi available for her, as Hoshi places chopsticks on the table. "The sushi here could not be fresher."

"Another plate?" she requests of Hoshi who would go about preparing another.

She looks to the Doji, "Please, help yourself. I caught the eel myself a few hours ago."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Oh..." She arched a brow. "I would be the judge of that." She took her chopstics from her sleeve and takes one of the maki rolls. The girl examined it and ate it. "Mhuh... not bad." Hanatsuko bowed again at the Miya. "I guess it is proper now that we have shared a meal for me to share my name... This one is Doji Hanatsuko."

[Miya Akari]

She bows at the introduction, offering her own name. "Miya Akari. It is a pleasure to meet you Doji-san. I hope we can work well together on this island. Where are you coming from, if you don't mind me asking?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Cold Wind City..." She took another bite. "One of the Kakita holdings."

[Miya Akari]

"A very busy city. I've visited a few times in my youth with my mother. What do you think of the island so far? Certainly a far cry from your home." Akari takes a piece of the eel nigiri and pops it into her mouth, as Hoshi delivers the second plate. This one with some tuna, yellowtail, mackerel and eel.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Yes... Do you travel much Miya sama?" She wondered.

[Miya Akari]

"I did as a child, with my mother. She was a herald and father was busy most of the time. So I went almost everywhere she did," Akari explained. "Though less after I began training. I was a guard on the Seppun daimyo estates until being assigned as Hiruka-sama's yojimbo."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"I see... Don't travel that much. It is weird. I enjoy exploring the different places around the different holdings." The Crane nodded. "I like to gather seeds and make nice gardens."

[Miya Akari]

"an explorer's spirit but without enough opportunity then?" she asked. "The island has some diverse flora. I'm not an expert on it by any means, but I have seen some flowers here I've never seen elsewhere."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"un... That is why I am here. I want to see if I can get some inspiration for my art. Meet new people that may enjoy the flora and the art that comes with it." The Doji drank some of the tea.

[Miya Akari]

Taking another bite of the eel nigiri, she nods at the explanation. "Well, I will help however I can. Admittedly, it likely will not be skilled help as far as the flowers go. I would like to see an artisan properly inspired though. Especially if it can bring some cultivated beauty to the island."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"What are your hobbies, Miya sama?" The Doji asked.

[Miya Akari]

"I enjoy nature mostly. Fishing is fun, as is stargazing and enjoying a campfire in the evenings. Walking through gardens is pleasant, though certainly takes no skill. I guess I just like being outdoors. Though I do love tea, and enjoy performing the ceremony."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Ah... I enjoy painting and studying plants beside the gardening and the ikebana. It would be an honor if you allowed this one to paint a portrait some day." She nodded. "I know there is no garden yet but the beach or the forest could be a good scene for a painting."

[Miya Akari]

"Ah, I wouldn't say no, but I would suggest there are likely much better subjects than myself that Doji-san could paint," she says, not embarrassed, but honestly modest about her own appearance. "But if you wanted good scenery for a painting, I might suggest the cove. A lot of small animals there that one could incorporated into a piece I imagine."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji nodded. "I will not impose. The cove? It would be... interesting scenery." Probably quiet...I am so used to... She shook her head and sighed. "Well if one wants to make a record of places one must start with something, right?"
